It was a fun night in the Joker Room.  Things started off pretty calm but heated up.   I'm having a hard time writing this while I'm in the top 3.  Play is moving quickly.  Rshocker bubbled this night when he bluffed at me but I had the nut flush.  We moved into the top 3:

bugman22j had a big lead on me after he knocked out michele1024.  She was being very aggresive against the guys, playing good poker.  She moved in on bug with AQ, but bug woke up and called with QQ and it held up.  She played a great game but got a little unlucky at the end.  I started picking up blinds here and there and small pots on bug gaining a little ground.  I then took a huge pot when I had QQ and the flop was Q1010.  Unfortunately for bug he had a 10 in the hold and I doubled up big.   Bug really got unlucky when he raised with 44 and I put him all in.  He called.  I showed him the bad news of my 66.  It held up and I won the tourney.  Great game for bugman22j though who finished 2nd two weeks in a row!   I know first is right around the corner for ya!

Hey all,

 

Well it was a smaller crowd tonight but a fun one.  We got off to quite a start.  We welcomed in Marti to her first Joker Room tourney.  Thanks for playing Marti!!  Well what do you know, the tourney director did not treat Marti so nicely.  Hand 5 comes up and I had just won a small pot so I limped in with Q9.  The flop was 699.  Marti in the small blind bet 10.  I raised to 20 and Marti slighly just calls.  The turn is a 6!  Full house I'm golden.   Marti bets 80 suspiciously.  I wouldn't to tell her I had a monster hand so I moved all in.  Much to my surprise she calls!  She shows A9 -- thank goodness I caught the full house.  So I'm thinking a split pot- great outcome for both of us.  But on the turn, boom- a Q!  Oh man, I just hit a 9's full of Q's to Marti's 9's full of 6's.   I felt so bad!  Marti was such a good sport about it as usual - she's the best!!  As we continued things were fairly straightforward.  We had 13 peeps so it wasn't long until we were playing for the final table. That took a bit of time because everyone had a bunch of chips and blinds were low.  Agro lost an all in when a flush it on the river and we were all set and the final table. 

 

Brighttail took the first hit to his chips when he moved all in.  Triplecrown56 called with KK and the K's held up.  Hand 10 Brightmail moves his 485 all in.  Annieboom moved all in for 1040.  I was looking for a cheap flop in the BB, but had to fold.   Annies JJ held up to brights AQ and bright was headed for the exits.  As a sidenote, I would have hit the straight in the BB.  Doesn't that seem to happen a lot?

 

This night Hurque was on fire.  Just couldn't do much wrong.  He made me put on a skirt several times.  Bluff the crud out of me.  I wasn't the only one though but it sure felt like it.  Hurque knocked out Rank by and may have knocked everyone else out after that.  He was knocking out peeps so fast I couldn't even keep up with the write up.  Boom was gone, I was gone, Mellow was gone and bang, bugman22j was gone.  Hurque was the winner.  Bug did a great job hanging on.  He was down to a very small stack and managed to come in 2nd.

Hey folks,

 

It was a fun poker night tonight.  We had a good turnout of 21 peeps.  I think people enjoyed the earlier start time for a change.  As usually there were some crazy hands.  As usual just as you think you've seen it all, you see something else surprising.  As we were playing for the final table with 11 peeps left there was a crazy hand with JakeyLove and newcomer flowermom.  After the flop, flowermom was all in and jakey called.  Flowermom showed trip 3's while jakey had AA.  Just when you thought flowermom had it-- boom!  A on the turn.  Another tough beat in poker land... 

 

That set our final table.  Msrinny was first to go after yours truly got her with two hands of 99.  First one the flop was all under 99 and she folded to my all in, and then second I called her all in of AK, but she couldn't catch and my 99 held up.  It's always nice to have rinny in the game.   Play was fairly uneventful for quite a while.  One big hand had Boom and Agro involved.  After the flop as Q 10 7 with Agro hitting top pair of Q's.  Problem was Boom (card rack) had Q7 and Agro was gone.  A few hands later it looked like rshocker was gonna win a big hand and win a bunch of chips and knock out brighttail when he turned over KK and brighttail showed K9.  But in typically UB fashion Brighttail hits a straight on the river to hang in.  Jakeylove was next to go when his A7 push didn't outdraw rshockers 99. 

 

As we got down to 4, I was not looking good.  I pushed with Ax a few times and won blinds.  I was just hoping I could hang on until someone else was knocked out.  I got real lucky hitting a full house with J2 in the big blind and got brighttail to bet into me and I was back in the ballgame!   My wish came true and newcomer brighttail was knocked out and we were down to the money:

shocker and boom were playing great poker.  I was just hanging in there.  I thought I had it when I had AJ and the flop was 8J8.  After I moved in and shocker called, i had it.  But when shocker showed the 8 in the hole I was done.  Shocker had a good lead on boom.  boom made some inroads with about 5 in a row.  Then she lowered the boom.  Shocker was playing very well.  He seemed to always make the right move.  Boom decided to push back and made a big call after a reraise by shocker.  This put her all in.  when the cards were shown, shocker looked good with A4 as boom turned over K9.  But, boom hit the 9 and doubled up big giving her the chip advantage.  I was very impressed by the way rshocker played tonight.  He was mounting a small comeback but then annie lowered the boom.  Annie was in the small blind and called.  shocker checked.  The flop was Q47.  Both checked.  The turn was a 3.  Shocker made a nice bet and boom called.  The river showed a 7.   Shocker moved all in for his last 5700 chips.  Boom made the call.  And--- Shocker had 46 for 4's and 7's.  Boom showed the 65 for a winning straight.  Annieboom won her first Jokerroom tourney!!!

 

Congrats all it was another fun night at the poker tables.  We'll probably be back at our late time next week.  Hope to see all the night owls there.

Hey folks!

 

Well I think most of us had a good time tonight in Jokerroom #16.  I say most because there was one pretty crazy hand with papoorboy and zopilote_loco (jilly).   After the flop both players had trips.  Pa had trip 7's and Loco had trip 9's.  You knew someone was going to lose some money here and it would probably be Pa. But with UB and Poker in general there's never a sure thing until the river hits.  Pa hit the quads on the river and loco was gone.  Loco took it well though and was a great sport.  It's hands like those that really just hit ya right in the face.  Of course Pa didn't have all the good luck.  Pa raised about 3x one hand and Red_Barchetta reraised.  msrinny then moved all in with about 3600 chips.  Pa paused a second and moved all in.  Red folds a mysterious pocket pair.   Rinny calls with 1010.  Pa shows Ak and it's a race.  The race didn't last long though when a 10 hit on the flop and then Quads on the turn!!  So that's two set of Quads in a range of about 30 hands.  Does that happen in live poker??  Well what do you know.  Hand 76 one more set of quads!  Jones was really low on the stack and went ahead and check in the BB with 78.  The flop was Q72 and rinny moved all in.  I figured she had a Q but I had to call.  Well there's quads again. Q's on the turn and river to complete it.   Once I was gone I had to drive into San Franciso to pick up my wife so I missed all the last of the action.  Sorry about that.  But here's your top 3:

Yours truly made it to the top two but was pretty outchippd.  I made a big move with 33 to start pulling a little closer. Then pulled a bit ahead on a big shove.  Got lucky when I hit the A high straight and michele had the lower end and that was that.

 

The director wins the tourney for his 2nd Joker title.
